LAHORE: After the completion of Misbah-ul-Haq’s tenure as chief selector of Pakistan Cricket Team, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started contacts with former cricketers for important posts.
According to the sources, the PCB contacted former captain Rashid Latif in this regard and talked to him about assuming the post of the chief selector of Pakistan Cricket Team. Rashid Latif was not taking up the post due to his job on state TV.
Sources said that Shoaib Akhtar along with former wicketkeeper of national cricket team Rashid Latif is also a strong candidate for the post of the chief selector. Shoaib Akhtar along with Rashid Latif was also associated with state TV. ۔

It should be noted that former captain of the national cricket team Misbah-ul-Haq’s tenure as chief selector had ended. Misbah-ul-Haq will now receive his salary as head coach.
It may be recalled that on October 14, head coach Misbah-ul-Haq had announced his resignation from the post of the chief selector. He said that there was no pressure on me, I want to focus on the team, so I took this step.
